We’re excited to welcome our international teams to the Texas Open Fire Meat Up, taking place October 22–24, 2026. Please register your team here.
International teams are invited to participate in Open Fire Meat Up at no additional cost. We recognize the time, planning, travel, and expense involved in bringing a team to Texas from abroad, and for that reason there is no registration fee for international teams. In return, we ask that each team commit to full participation in the official event program, including Saturday’s OFMU competitions and Friday’s International Night.
On Saturday, each international team is required to compete in both OFMU categories: People’s Choice and Judges’ Choice. For People’s Choice, teams must prepare and serve approximately 2,500 samples of 2 oz each for the public. For Judges’ Choice, teams must also prepare a special on-site presentation for the judging panel.
On Friday evening, each international team is also required to participate in International Night by serving approximately 400 samples of 2 oz each to invited guests, colleagues, and private event participants. This experience is designed to showcase the flavors, traditions, and live-fire identity of each country, and will also serve as the internal competition for the title of Best International Team.
Each team is fully responsible for providing everything needed for its cook, setup, and service, including grills, cooking equipment, fuel, ingredients, serving materials, prep tables, utensils, décor, staffing, coolers, and any other required supplies.

We may be able to help connect you with brands or companies related to grills, protein, seasonings, equipment, serving materials, or other event needs. Any collaboration, sponsorship, or support agreement must be handled directly by your team. If your team reaches an agreement with any company and wishes to include that company as a Team Support Sponsor, you must submit that request to the organization for review and authorization before any sponsor presence, branding, or activation is approved at the event.

Compete in the West Coast's first official LFCA Open Fire Competition at BBQ Jackpot.
The winner earns an invitation to the 2027 Open Fire World Championships.
Competition requires a current LFCA Team Membership.
